The Benefits of Supporting Small Business

Updated: Jun 26, 2021

We have created a short list of a number of reasons why it is important for you to support small businesses (OMM being one of them ๐Ÿ˜‰).

Hopefully one of these will help you to reflect on the invaluable role small and independent businesses (and the people behind them) play in each of our daily lives. So, grab a cappuccino from your local coffee shop (not Starbucks!) and get to reading (it will literally take 5 minutes out of your day to be a better person!):

1. Helping others achieve their dreams!:

Entrepreneurship drives this country's economic prosperity and fuels innovation. When you shop at small businesses, you support the dreams of others. And what is better than supporting your friends and family?

2. Unlike big corporations, smaller businesses always want the best final result, not your money!

Thereโ€™s no secret about it, a big company is going to be all about your money. They only care about making a final profit so they can get richer and pay their shareholders a fat return on their investment. A small business is so much more than that. Small businesses guarantee a reliable purchase with a fresh twist on something that you saw by a big brand company elsewhere.

3. Better for the environment!:

Because many small businesses offer locally sourced products, the carbon footprint for packaging and transportation is often much smaller than larger companies.

4. Personalized customer service:

Independent business owners genuinely care about the people in the neighborhoods they serve, often delivering amazing, personalized and sometimes unexpected customer service. Small business owners value the relationship that they build with their client and therefore you can rely on receiving friendly, personal customer service. 5. Local businesses care about the community:

Small business owners care about and are much more invested in the well-being of the community and its future. 92% of all small business owners personally donate to charities and non-profit organizations, over half encourage their employees to volunteer their time, and many support local causes.

6. Stimulate the economy:

By supporting a small business, youโ€™re also supporting the local community. Spending your money at a local shop helps to stimulate the local economy and helps to keep business booming within your local regions. Small businesses also create and sustain jobs in your local community.

Most importantly, small businesses represent the creative consciousness. Small businesses contribute tremendously to the unique identities of communities everywhere.

So please, the next time you shop, shop local and support small business because shopping at small businesses helps your community thrive. ๐Ÿค— - Hannah & Adriana ๐Ÿƒ
